Top 10 this week in 1973

9 June 2021 – RESULTS UPDATE

Thanks for your responses to yesterday’s poll (below) about the Top 10 songs from this week in 1973.

Based on your comments,  equal first were Don’t Expect Me to Be Your Friend by Lobo and Daniel by Elton John.

Equal second were Last Song by Edward Bear and Part of the Union by Strawbs. Honourable mentions to The Twefth of Never by Donny Osmond and Also Sprach Zarathustra by Deodato.

Interestingly, the #1 song on the chart that week, Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree by Tony Orlando & Dawn, didn’t score a single vote from you! That’s despite the fact that it sat at #1 for 7 weeks in 1973.

Thanks for taking part. We’ll select a Top 10 from another year next week and ask you again about your favourites.
