Wichita Lineman was written by American songwriter Jimmy Webb in 1968. It was first recorded by the American country music artist Glen Campbell and has since been widely covered by other artists.
King Harvest’s version included lines from another Jimmy Webb-written song, By the Time I Get to Phoenix, which was also recorded by Glen Campbell, although originally by Johnny Rivers.
