After working with The Mavericks and Strings Unlimited between 1964 and ’67, John stepped out as a solo artist and quickly became an emerging pop sensation.
After his first two singles, Sadie and Underneath the Arches / Friday Kind of Monday came another double-A-side single in 1968, Jamie, written by Hans Poulsen, and I Don’t Want to Love You, written by Don and Phil Everly. Those tracks came from John’s second album, Everybody Oughta Sing A Song, as did another single, Rose Coloured Glasses, also written by Hans Poulsen.
