Born in Adelaide, Darryl Cotton was a singer-songwriter, television presenter and actor. He was a founding member of Zoot in 1965, with Beeb Birtles, and were later joined by Rick Brewer and Rick Springfield.
In 1972 Cotton travelled to the UK and in ’73 moved to America.
Cotton returned to Australia in 1978, signed with Oz Records and released a solo single, Don’t Let It Get to You. Beeb Birtles co-produced it, with support from members of Little River Band and Air Supply, Australian bands that were finding great success in America.
Backing vocals were provided by Beeb, Graeham Goble and Russell Hitchcock.
Derek Pellicci played drums and percussion, and David Briggs played guitar.
