Wikipedia:
Promises was a Canadian-based pop group which was founded 1978 in California. It’s Vancouver-born members were siblings Leslie, Jed and Benny Knauer.
Promises was formed, recorded and produced by Steve Verroca. Their record Baby It’s You was released at the end of 1978, and by 1979 it had become a hit in Europe and New Zealand, as well as in Australia, largely due to the programming of its promotional video on Sunday evening television music show Countdown.
One more single was released from the Promises album but it was far less successful, and the band broke up in 1979.

Lyrics:
You′re here with me now
But you’re saying, you don′t want me any more
You’re holding me now
But you’re saying, you can′t see me no-no more
You whisper goodbye then cling tighter to me
I can′t take no more, oh no
