Wikipedia:
Hush was written by American composer and musician Joe South for singer Billy Joe Royal who released a single in 1967. The song was covered the same year by Somebody’s Image, fronted by Russell Morris. It reached #12. It was also covered by Deep Purple in 1968.
Upon returning to Australia after three years in America, Russell formed the Russell Morris Band, later playing and recording as Russell Morris & the Rubes. He also fronted The Lonely Boys throughout the 1980s.
With The Rubes, Russell recorded a new version of Hush in 1980.

Lyrics:
Na, na-na-na, na-na-na, na-na-na
Come on, ha-ha, yeah
Well, a certain little girl is on my mind
Good gosh almighty, she looks so fine
She’s the best girl that I’ve ever had
Sometimes sure make me feel so bad
