BONUS BELOW – Bonnie Raitt sings Love Has No Pride with Crosby, Stills and Nash at Madison Square Garden in 2009; and a version by Linda Ronstadt
Love Has No Pride was written by American singer-songwriters Libby Titus and Eric Kaz and was first released by Bonnie Raitt on her album Give It Up in 1972.
Although busy as lead vocalist with Sherbet, Daryl began releasing solo singles in 1974 with a cover of You’re My World. Other singles followed, including Cavalry, Old Sid, Afterglow (Of Your Love), and If You Walked Away, as well as Love Has No Pride in 1977. There were no Daryl Braithwaite albums until all these singles were released together on Daryl Braithwaite… Best Of at the end of 1978.
Daryl’s first solo studio album was Out on the Fringe in 1979.
Although many people have recorded Love Has No Pride, including Linda Ronstadt and Rita Coolidge, Daryl’s version is the only one to chart in Australia.
Lyrics:
I’ve had bad dreams too many times
To think that they don’t mean much anymore
Fine times have gone and left my sad home
Friends who once cared just walk out my door
Love has no pride when I call out your name
