Ernie Sigley began singing as a choir boy at St Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne, and went on to be a regular on the local town hall circuit in the 1950s. In 1957 at age 19, his first record Love Is A Golden Ring was released.
Nine more singles charted between then and 1974, when his duet with Denise Drysdale, Hey Paula, was a #1 hit. Ernie also released three albums.
Ernie regularly performed around Australia on the club circuit, often with Denise.
Aside from singing, Ernie was a Gold Logie award winning television host (1957–1993), radio presenter (1952-2009), comedian and variety performer.
