Lobo is singer/songwriter Roland Kent LaVoie. Lobo means “Wolf” in Spanish.
Me and You and a Dog Named Boo was LaVoie’s debut single under the Lobo moniker. The song is about two hippies and a dog taking a cross-country road trip in an old car that runs poorly.
Lobo released a string of hits throughout the ’70s, including two more Top 10 singles: I’d Love You to Want Me and Don’t Expect Me to Be Your Friend.
