Wikipedia:
The Tremeloes (formerly Brian Poole and The Tremeloes) are an English beat group founded in 1958. They initially broke through in the British Invasion era with lead singer Brian Poole, although they achieved their greatest success after Poole’s departure in 1966. Bassist Alan Howard also left, both of them replaced by bassist-singer Len “Chip” Hawkes.
Their biggest hit on the Australian charts was a sound-alike version of a song originally recorded by the Four Seasons, Silence is Golden (the B-side of Rag Doll). Guitarist Rick Westwood sang lead vocal on the Tremeloes version, which made #1 in the UK and #11 in the USA.
