The song’s success prompted Bobby Vinton to record an entire album of blue-themed songs, also titled Blue on Blue, which produced an even bigger hit, Blue Velvet. The album also contained covers by Bobby of classics like Blue Moon, Blueberry Hill and Irving Berlin’s Blue Skies.
