Wikipedia:
Welcome to My Nightmare was the first to be recorded by Alice Cooper as a person, Vincent Furnier’s new legal name. All previous Alice Cooper releases were by the band of that name.
Welcome to My Nightmare is a concept album. Played in sequence, the songs form a journey through the nightmares of a child named Steven. The album inspired a worldwide concert tour in 1975 and the Welcome to My Nightmare concert film in 1976. Most of Lou Reed’s band joined Cooper for this record.
