This song was influenced by The Beach Boys and contains contributions from members of the group; Carl Wilson and Bruce Johnston both sang backup. Elton said the Beach Boys “sound, harmonies, and the way they structured their songs” was an influence on many of his tracks, including this one and Someone Saved My Life Tonight. As usual, Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics.
