Everything is Out of Season was written by prolific hit-makers Roger Greenaway and Roger Cook, and was originally released in 1972 by Britain’s The Fortunes. The song didn’t appear on Australian charts until John Farnham recorded it, his version reaching #9 on the singles chart in 1973. In the same year, the song was included on John’s album Hits, Magic & Rock ‘N Roll.
Very soon after Everything is Out of Season was released, John married Jill Billman who was a dancer in a stage musical in which John starred in 1971, Charlie Girl. Ian ‘Molly’ Meldrum announced John and Jill’s wedding plans in Go-Set magazine.

Lyrics:
Everything is out of season,
the price of love is higher than the moon.
Everything is out of season,
your kiss is like a wintery falling dune,
and quite soon you will be gone.
