Fortune Teller was written by Allen Toussaint under the pseudonym Naomi Neville and first recorded by Benny Spellman in 1962. Many artists have covered the song, including the Rolling Stones, the Hollies, the Who and Iggy Pop. A critically acclaimed version by Australian band The Throb was a hit in that country. It was also included on the 2007 album Raising Sand, by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss.
