Fortune Teller was written by Allen Toussaint under the pseudonym Naomi Neville and first recorded by Benny Spellman in 1962. Many artists have covered the song, including the Rolling Stones, the Hollies, the Who and Iggy Pop. A version in 1966 by The Throb was a hit in Australia, charting in the top 5 in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. It was also included on the 2007 album Raising Sand by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss.
