Wikipedia:
Hit and Run was Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons’ first single, and Screaming Targets the band’s first album, on Mushroon after Oz Records folded. They were released in Australia in 1979, then in the USA in 1980.
Mushroom was eager to connect with the ‘new wave’ in England and brought over Peter Solley, an English producer and latter-day Procol Harum member. Solley produced this single and album, although he was originally brought in to work with The Sports.

Lyrics:
You′ve gotta keep a putting a bootin a runnin a hiding

You′ve gotta keep a one step a two step a quick step a thick step
Cause it’s gonna get you
I’ve got to make it waterproof
Cause it just can′t go on
Oh now then don′t look back
