The original line-up featured Richard Gower (vocals, keyboards, piano, guitar), Phil Fursdon (guitar, vocals), Pete Miller (bass, vocals) and Clive Wilson (drums, percussion, vocals). After early success in their local pub circuit, they came to the attention of record producer Mickie Most.
Lay Your Love on Me was the group’s second single and it became their first hit. This song and Some Girls, both from their only album Smash and Grab, reached #1 in Australia and New Zealand, and #3 and #2 respectively back home in the UK.
