Wikipedia & Pop Archives:
Johnny Cymbal and Peggy Clinger wrote a number of songs for the Partridge Family, David Cassidy’s fictional TV sitcom family. Cymbal had at least two hits in his own right: Mr Bass Man (1963) and Cinnamon under the name of ‘Derek’ (1968).
In 1972, at age 22, John Farnham was appointed ‘King of Moomba’ and, in the same year, had a national hit with a cover of the title track from David Cassidy’s international hit album, Rock Me Baby. It was Cassidy’s second solo album.
