One of our best performing Get it On stories this year is about Welsh singing legend Tom Jones, who has been entertaining fans around the world since the early ’60s.
Our story, published in January, featured some spine-tingling moments of song on video, as he continues as a Coach on The Voice UK. Now 86 years old, Sir Tom’s singing voice is remarkable, hitting the high notes almost as easily as he did 60 years ago. Our January story had hundreds of page views when first published and it has reached even higher numbers in many months since. There’s a link to it further down this page.
Tom Jones still performs on stage and is currently touring the US. Meanwhile, recorded season 14 episodes of The Voice UK commenced in August on ITV1 and are still running. And once again, Tom Jones gets to sing – both planned and impromptu.

It seems this will be Tom’s final season as a Coach on The Voice UK, although producers at ITV say they are keen to keep him involved in other ways. They said: “We have loved working with Sir Tom Jones over the past nine years on The Voice UK.. While he will no longer be a full-time coach on series 15, we continue to talk to Sir Tom and his team about his involvement in the next series.”
