Songfacts:
Nancy Sinatra was on the same record label as her famous father Frank, but they were going to drop her because her first few singles flopped. Things changed when they teamed her with producer Lee Hazlewood, who wrote this for her and had her lower her delivery. Nancy regretted the song, saying in 1971, “The image created by ‘Boots’ isn’t the real me. ‘Boots’ was hard and I’m as soft as they come.” Lee had originally written the song for himself.

Lyrics:
You keep saying you got something for me
Something you call love, but confess
You′ve been messin’ where you shouldn′t have been messin’
And now someone else is getting all your best
These boots are made for walkin’
And that′s just what they′ll do
One of these days, these boots are gonna walk all over you
