We’ve previously had Bohemian Rhapsody sung in the Klingon language of Star Trek, and now we have Total Eclipse of the Heart.
In Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, S4 E3 titled Human Best Friend, released on Thursday, Rebecca Romijn in her role of Una Chin-Riley belts out a version of the Bonnie Tyler hit that she worked hard to perfect.
“It honestly was the biggest challenge of the season for me,” Romijn said. “I did not know it was a challenge I ever wanted. In fact, at first, I was completely overwhelmed. But because Klingon is an actual language that probably at least 20 people in the entire world can speak fluently, including college professors, I worked with a dialect coach to make sure I could get all of that correct pronunciation, translation, all of it.”
The release of this episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds came just a month after the death of Bonnie Tyler at age 75, following complications from an ongoing illness.
