Wikipedia:
How Does It Feel was released as a single in Australia but it failed to reach the top 100. No music video was created to promote the single. It fared better at home in the UK where it got to #15. The other single released from the Slade in Flame soundtrack album, Far Far Away, did better in Australia, reaching #17.
Despite its low sales, the record has been highly praised by musicians and music critics as Slade’s best.
“It’s easily one of the best songs ever written – ever”, said Noel Gallagher.
“The opening track [of Slade in Flame], How Does It Feel, was one of the greatest songs I had ever heard”, said music critic Emma Hynes.
Barry Nelson of the Cheshire Observer remarked how Slade had gone from “straightforward ‘yob-rock’ band” to “tak[ing] tentative steps towards musical creativity” which “seems to be an admirable thing once the shock wears off”.
