Wikipedia:
Little Darlin’ was written by a 16-year-old Maurice Williams, with both melody and doo-wop accompaniment strongly emphasising a Calypso rhythm. It was first recorded in January 1957 by Williams’ group The Gladiolas. A successful cover version by Canadian group The Diamonds followed a month later.
The song was later recorded by Elvis Presley, in 1977. The Diamonds’ version of Little Darlin’ was the only one to chart in Australia.
It was the most successful of nine songs by The Diamonds to make the Australian singles charts.
