Put a Little Love in Your Heart was originally performed in 1969 by Jackie DeShannon, who composed it with her younger brother Randy Myers and Jimmy Holiday.

She was one of the first female singer-songwriters of the Rock and Roll period. She is best known as the singer of What the World Needs Now Is Love and Put a Little Love in Your Heart, and as the composer of When You Walk in the Room and Bette Davis Eyes, which were covered by The Searchers and Kim Carnes, whose versions have been hits for both these acts.

Think of your fellow man
Lend him a helping hand
Put a little love in your heart
You see it′s getting late
Oh, please don’t hesitate
Put a little love in your heart
