Wikipedia:
Time is On My Side was written by Jerry Ragovoy (using the pseudonym “Norman Meade”) and was first recorded by jazz trombonist Kai Winding and his orchestra in 1963. It was covered (with additional lyrics by Jimmy Norman) by soul singer Irma Thomas (audio below) and then in 1964 by The Rolling Stones.
Two versions were recorded by The Rolling Stones in 1964 (see audio clips above), both of them incorporating elements of Irma Thomas’s recording, including spoken-word interjections in the chorus, a monologue in the middle of the song, and distinctive lead guitar. The second arrangement is more tightly arranged and features guitar in the intro.
Time is On My Side by the Stones was part of the British Invasion, in which English covers of black American songs received more US radio attention than the original.

Lyrics:
Now you always say
That you want to be free
But you’ll come running back (I said you would baby)
You’ll come running back (I said so many times before)
You’ll come running back to me
Oh, time is on my side, yes it is
Time is on my side, yes it is
