Wikipedia:
My Mistake by New Zealand art rock group Split Enz was released in 1977 as the lead single from their third studio album Dizrythmia. It was the first Split Enz song to achieve a top 20 chart position, peaking at #15 in Australia and #21 in the band’s native New Zealand. A music video was produced in a cabaret style.
The album’s title Dizrythmia comes from circadian dysrhythmia, more commonly known as jet lag. It was the first Split Enz album without co-founding members Phil Judd and Mike Chunn. Judd’s departure left Tim Finn as the band’s sole leader and main songwriter. Neil Finn, younger brother of Tim Finn, and Nigel Griggs replaced Judd and Chunn respectively.

Lyrics:
I went out to see if I could fall in love again,
That was my mistake.
That was my mistake.
I went out to see if I could raise a laugh again
That was my mistake.
That was my mistake.
